Eric M. Black, MD, is Vice Chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Section Chief of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at Summit Health. He specializes in overuse, sports, and traumatic injuries, with expertise in complex arthroscopic surgery, reconstructive surgery, replacement surgery, and fracture surgery of the shoulder and elbow. Dr. Black has advanced skills in complex rotator cuff repairs, instability surgery, and shoulder replacements. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and is a consultant reviewer for several leading orthopedic publications. Dr. Black is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. A native of Morris County, he enjoys swimming, playing tennis with his wife, and spending time with his daughter and son.
