A 72-year-old female presents to the emergency department with chest pain. She reports that the pain is worse during inspiration and different than her last hospitalization 10 days ago. At that time, she was brought to the hospital with crushing chest pain and was found to have an acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). She underwent emergent coronary catheterization and was found to have 3 vessel disease, for which she then underwent emergency coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). After surgery, she was doing well and was quickly discharged to home. She reports adherence to all of her home medications. Her past medical history is otherwise significant for hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus, and osteoarthritis.
