QID 109059 (Type "109059" in App Search)
A 66-year-old male presents to the emergency department with chest pain. He reports that the pain came on 1 hour ago and describes the pain as burning and crushing. He denies radiation to the shoulder or jaw and endorses nausea without vomiting. 1 week ago, the patient presented to the hospital with similar symptoms and was diagnosed with an ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). He underwent emergent coronary catheterization and ultimately had 2 drug-eluting stents placed in his left anterior descending (LAD) and right coronary arteries. The patient was discharged from that hospitalization on furosemide, metoprolol, lisinopril, and 3 other medications he cannot recall. The patient’s past medical history is otherwise significant for hypertension and hyperlipidemia. On physical exam, he is in moderate distress and diaphoretic. His temperature is 98.6°F (37°C), blood pressure is 135/82 mmHg, pulse is 92/min, and respirations are 14/min. He is hunched forward and clutching his chest. His electrocardiogram is presented in Figure A. This patient’s current episode was most likely caused by nonadherence to a medication in which of the following classes?
